Another impressive feature is its ability to return to the spot where it left off in our tests--it did this for 77 mins on one cleaning before running out of battery.
Unlike some of the other robovacs that we evaluated, the i3+ EVO has a self-emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. The i3+ EVO can be prevented from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it must be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L that will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
The i3+ EVO, just like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor-tracking sensors that create maps. It also allows you to navigate through neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, while the i7 can store multiple. The i7's map can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, however, not the i3+ EVO.
The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing debris from the surface in comparison to other robovacs that we have looked at, but it's not the best at cleaning edges and corners. It's also more abrasive on furniture despite being relatively quiet. It moved chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and also was stuck to cords and toys while testing.
